Someone is using my name in an attempt to scam people. I am not now nor have I ever been looking for any kind of assistant. I certainly wouldn't ever ask anyone to cash a check to me or to make a Western Union payment to anyone else (especially not someone in Manilla!). This is a classic Fake Check scam. Learn more about that at www.fakechecks.org. If you've been in contact with this person, please report them ASAP!

Warren and Beth test the waters of the Artist's Palette at Waiotapu as Syl looks on. I dared them of course and had them pose for the shot. The water was actually quite cool in this area of the lake.
Sulfur deposits are visible in this river.
The vapors from the thermal activity leaves a layer of Ferrous Oxide (aka rust) on just about everything. Rusty trees are actually quite common here.
Rust, rust everywhere. Ferrous Oxide gets deposited on everything from rocks to tree branches.
Warren, Beth, and Syl are looking out over the Rainbow Crater at Waiotapu.
This is a fun shot of a mud bubbling up. This is accompanied by a very satisfying bloop sound and stinky steam.
Some fun action at the mud pool on the way to Waiotapu
This is a pond that contains runoff waters from the champagne lake at Waiotapu thermal area. Yes the lake was really this green, this hasn't been altered in photoshop any more than my other photos.
This is the edge of the champagne lake at the Waiotapu thermal area. My first reaction to this shot was that it looks so much larger in the image than it did in real life. I love the contrast of the green and orange. I wish the lighting were a little less harsh that day, but the pic came out well all the same.
